Notable arrest on Southern Gateway

On 19 April 2026 I was attending the Greggs at 10 Oxford Road regarding our ongoing work to tackle shoplifting at that location.

One of the managers pointed out to me a male in the store as I was leaving, advising that he was a regular shoplifter.

I detained him and stop searched him under s1 Pace for stolen items. I didn’t find any, however I did find some illicit substances which were dealt with at the scene.

What I also found was that this male was wanted on our systems for numerous offences. He was promptly arrested and taken into custody, to be put in front of the courts.
